Three years ago i had the most fun using some Lil Luxe Collecton patterns and drafting some of my own to make a mini collection for eddie!


Looking at these photos makes me realise how much i love the Reversible Crop Top and how i should make some more for my girl! The Reversible Crop Top can be worn right side or inside out, but I also styled it with the button at the front like a little jacket, so it's like a double reversi top really! This pattern can be used for some great colour-blocking, as i sewed this up with no modifications to the original pattern - just some embellishing with the pompom trim!


I feel like i should just make myself one of these this at this stage.

Here is a quick little tutorial i made on how i did the contrast panel on Eddie's dress from the Project Run & Play mini challenge i participated in (and won!)




I used the Groove Dress by Made-It Patterns for Eddie's gorgeous dress so I thought I would do a tutorial on the simple little inside panel I added! This would work easily for any pattern with a lowered back hem for the skirt (or even a shirt!)

Trace the lower part of the skirt from the side seam and add about two cm to the top edge (you could add more if you like!).



I used woven fabric in the original dress and stitched it onto the knit dress which was a little tricky but worked out fine! Ideally you'd want to use the same sort of fabric/weight as the main fabric but also this is the sort of thing you can have fun with so, heck, sew whatever you want!

Fold over the top edge and press it (OR, be a little cheat like me with this knit fabric and just serge across the top. you just want it to have a nice edge). Right sides together, sew along the lower edge of the skirt and the contrast panel right up to the side seams. Clip along the curve and then flip it right side out.


Press it so it sits so nice! You can top stitch if you want, which i did to emulate the hem that will be going on the front of the dress. Carefully pin the top of the panel down to the back of the skirt (the part you folded over in the beginning) and stitch across it. Now just sew up the dress as usual! This is going to be a cute little green groove dress with a rainbow peekaboo panel!



Easy, but CUTE!

Rounding up the last of my Sew Fab sews this year is the Clara Wrap top. I sewed it up in this DELICIOUS merino jersey i bought from the fabric store in brisbane (i was so excited to go visit). I wasn't sure if this would go okay or how i would style it but it actually turned out super cute for the sort of clothes that I wear!

As part of the Sew Fab Bundle recently, I also sewed up Gingercake patterns' Bucket Bag! I had a bucket bag  i really really adored and was excited to sew up another one that would match my outfits. I made two, one like a "shell" out of clear pvc plastic and the inner out of leopard print and ellie whittaker fabric. The inner is reversible and I wrote the full review and some tips on how to modify the pattern a little over on the Sew Fab blog.

I don't sew toys, like ever, but i always like the idea of it! There's so many adorable plush toy patterns out there and I've amassed quite a collection of them on my pinterest board for handmade toys! A few years ago i did sew up this super super super cute Desert Fox pattern when I sewed for Pattern Revolution and it was a part of the One Thimble (issue 8) tour!


The Desert Fox Softie was designed by Felt With Love Designs and you can get it standalone on their site! As someone who has made probably two stuffed toys before this I can tell you that the pattern is not that difficult! I was going to make two, but I didn't because he was a little fiddly, however i think enough time has passed I should probably make this little guy a partner (or maybe two since there's three kids now!)

If you're already a fan of One Thimble Magazine then you've probably already heard the news - but if you haven't, let me be the one to break it to you:



that's right, and it's very exciting with all the new changes. You can read all about that here as well as get a peek inside the mag, but for now I'm going to show you one of the patterns you receive in the magazine - the Elliot Romper.




I think my favourite part about this is that it's made for WOVEN fabrics, and it's pretty easy to sew, honestly. I did have issues with the placket, but the instructions are clear and i feel my next one will be much easier for me to sew. It turned out fantastic anyway!

The Elliot Romper was designed by Tadah Patterns and comes in sizes 0000 - 4T. I sewed up the size 2 for Nova, who is a short but slightly-chunky 2 year old and it fits him so well. I used some super cute Where the Wild Things Are fabric i have had in my stash for TOO long. I was originally going to sew something for myself, because it has max all over it, but I knew i wanted this romper to be something cute and bright so a sacrifice was made!


I love the binding around the neck and the placket, it just looks so neat. The length of the pants i could have probably hemmed a bit deeper since he has short little legs but they're not too terrible and i might roll them up a little later!
