Oh is there anything cuter than kids in sailor outfits? I'm such a sucker for a sailor collar on just about anything, and now i'm realising there's only one sailor-collared shirt in my wardrobe currently - this must be rectified.
The pattern is so fiddly, WOW. I used the rest of this navy wool for this top but I din't know if it's really that comfortable for him. I made myself one almost identical and i didn't exactly love it. I think it should be lined. I need to stop sewing with mystery fabrics or at least make appropriate garments from them!
ANYWAY he doesn't seem bothered by it. The little red and white striped panel is like a little modesty panel that comes undone on one side with a snap. It makes the neckhole larger and easier to get on over toddler heads i guess. It's cute and clever but i think in the future I will assemble it my own way. I really do love the way that collar sits though, the way it rolls out at the front? *chef's kiss*
His shorts are the only shorts/pants I make him - to be honest! It's the Olli shorts from Misusu - another of my favourite TNTs! I will 100% be doing a post about my favourite patterns I use for the kids in the near future! You can get this shorts pattern for free if you join the Misusu Patterns fb group.
