Pink Hosh Pants for the Boy & Pattern Giveaway!

I taught him how to howl
So I have a friend, her name is Sarah, and she blogs over at EmmylouBeeDoo! I love her to bits and I have been honoured to pattern test her first three patterns ever {my aim is to pattern test everything she makes always until her head explodes from making patterns}. Her first pattern was the Hosh Pants {Hoe-sh}, and I loved them right away.

So much that every pair of pants I make Vincent now are Hosh Pants. And it won't be long before Edison is big enough to fit into the smallest sizing. The pattern is $8.95 and goes from sizes 12months-5. I'm not getting paid for this by the way, I just love to share my favourite things with you guys!

I've made Vincent tuxedo stripe Hosh pants, I've made camoflage Hosh Pants, and now I have made pink Hosh pants with teddy bears over them.

What's up with that? I'll tell you. The kid, he is getting super fussy with what to wear. He always wants to wear shorts. I even made him Star Wars Surfer Slacks because it's getting cold here! Nope, not even Star Wars was going to make him wear pants without a bit of a struggle. So I sent him down to my sewing room and said, "Choose any fabric you want, and I will make you pants from it."

Well I think you can guess the rest of the story. He chose the pink fabric. So I made him pink teddy bear Hosh pants. And you know what? He rocks them.

He chose to wear them this morning. He didn't even ask for shorts. THIS IS RECORD BREAKING YOU GUYS. I'm sure all you mamas out there know that once you're onto a good thing you don't want to wreck it! Going to make sure Vincents chooses all his fabric choices from now on, and make some simple basics to pair with them.

Outfit Details
Tee: Living End band tee I resized down for him worn over a long-sleeved grey henley
Pants: Pink Hosh Pants - mama-made
Shoes: Etnies skate shoes, from eBay

I love this pattern, the skinny legs are not too skinny that he can't bend in them, the adjustable elastic waistband means it's... well, adjustable! I do love jeans on Vincent, but these pants I think he prefers since he can independently pull them on and off himself. He's very critical with what he wears, once he's dressed he looks at himself in the mirror and asks me, "Do I wook good in this?" Sometimes he substitutes 'good' for 'cool'.

Yes. This is my little fashion fiend trying on jackets in Myer. ^_^
The other awesome thing about these pants is that the fabric came from my Oma. I get so stoked when she gives me her old sewing supplies! She is insanely proud of me as a mother & a seamstress, and that makes me SO HAPPY. I love that lady!

I have one Hosh Pants pdf pattern to give away to a lucky reader! To enter, all you have to do is like Lou Bee Clothing on facebook and then leave a comment here telling me that you've liked it :) AND ALSO in that comment tell me the strangest request you have had for making items for people.

Entries are open to everyone on planets Earth & Mars. Giveaway closes April 18 at 8pm AEST.

  1. I liked EmmyloudBeeDoo on facebook! Loving these pants! Weirdest thing I've ever been asked to sew? I've honestly only been asked to sew really "normal" things. I did tell a friend recently what a pain it is to sew curtains. She then asked me to sew her curtains just an hour later.

  13. I'm with Kat follow and adore Sarah! these are by far the raddest skinny pants I've seen for the wee one. It's makes me smile every time I see Vinc's picture in these bad boys pink and teddy bears included (way to rock those boi!) weirdest thing hmmm. my middle daughter asks for ball gowns and evening attire on a regular basis, but with the princess fascination over here maybe that's not so unusual. I did sew a carry all bag for a friend out of silk and lined it with some other super fancy material that should never be used in that way. I told her it was going to get trashed and get snagged on stuff, but she said she didn't care. so it looked fabulous for about a week. :) que sirah.

Weirdest 'making' experience to date? Would have to be embroidering a My Little Pony design onto my brother-in-law's jumper. BIL is 28 years old.

  17. I have liked the page on facebook :) I love these pants your son looks pretty awesome. Is the fabric just cotton or is it stretchy? I had a page making soft toy monsters and the weirdest thing I was asked to make was a monster for every member of a family the dads one was sporty so I made it with wee running shorts, a sweat band and a drawn on 6 pack :)

  22. I like Lou Bee Clothing on FB. Hmmm...The strangest request I've gotten is from my husband asking me to make footed pajamas. He's 6'7" BTW. I haven't made him any yet mainly because of the large amount of yardage it would require.

  24. These pants look fantastic! Great pattern. I have liked Lou Bee Clothing on fb. The weirdest thing I have been asked to make is helping a friends boyfriend sew patches onto his denim vest for him to wear to metal concerts he was going to whilst traveling in Europe (it was also pretty cool seeing a mid 20 year old guy interested in sewing and creating special clothing items!).

  30. Liked it. The strangest request I've ever had for sewing was my son needed loud pants for crazy mismatch day at school, and my mom sent some medallion print cotton in purple, pink, orange, and other bright colors. He wears them to sleep in all the time!
